COLORADO ABORTION &
PREGNANCY RESOURCE MAP

Use the map below to see which centers in your area provide legitimate, unbiased, medically accurate information about abortion and your reproductive and sexual health. Blue-medical symbols are abortion providers and caution-red symbols are anti-abortion centers.

ARE YOU GOING TO A REAL ABORTION CLINIC?

If you are searching for reproductive health services in Colorado, specifically access to abortion, make sure you are seeking services at an actual health clinic. Anti-abortion centers, sometimes known as ‘crisis pregnancy centers’ or ‘fake health clinics’, are set up by anti-abortion organizations to provide intentionally misleading information about pregnancy, abortion, and contraception in an effort to coerce individuals from accessing abortion care and other reproductive health services. Currently, in Colorado there are 59 anti-abortion centers and outnumber abortion providers nearly 3 to 1.

Keep Abortion Safe’s Colorado Abortion and Pregnancy Resource Map is designed to help people seeking abortion and sexual healthcare and services in Colorado. This tool shows all public anti-abortion centers and abortion providers with their confirmed services in order for people to choose what organization is best for you and your situation. Information is power.

definitions

Abortion Pill Reversal (APR)

The ‘abortion pill reversal’ is a large dose of progestone taken orally or vaginally that is said to reverse the first part of the medication abortion, mifeprex, in the first trimester. This pill has not been tested or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Afilliation/Funding

Many anti-abortion centers are funded and/or affiliated with national and international anti-abortion organizations, such as: CareNet, Heartbeat International, National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA), and Birthright International. This network of organizations provide funds and guide strategies of local anti-abortion center and actions.

Learn to Earn Program

A Learn to Earn program involves attending classes that the organization hosts in order to earn financial or material assistance.

Limited Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Testing

Gonorrhea and chlamydia can be tested for through a urine test. Limited testing does not require a doctor’s authorization and does not provide the medical verification needed for prescribed antibiotics treatment.

Limited Ultrasounds

A limited ultrasound can only look at the viability of a fetus and gestational age. Often a radiologist conducts the ultrasound and is sent out for doctor’s verification.

Methodology

This map was created as a tool to inform those looking for unbiased comprehensive reproductive and sexual health information and services in Colorado. From June to September 2019 an exhaustive data collection was conducted through internet searches and verified through phone calls. Any organization that has an asterisk (*) next to its name was unable to be verified. An anti-abortion center qualified for inclusion if it provides free pregnancy tests, pregnancy options coaching, the abortion reversal pill, and/or Learn to Earn programs in conjunction with an anti-abortion stance. An abortion provider was included if it provides abortion and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health information. The continued accuracy of the map’s locations cannot be guaranteed due to the covert nature of anti-abortion centers that close and reopen under different names. Please be aware that this is not an exhaustive list of abortion providers in Colorado.
